The Common Core Made Simple

There are so many pieces to the Common Core standards
That just didn't exist with the state standards.

There's the 16 Habits of the Mind,
Then the Anchor Standards,
And the Math Practices.
And one can't forget the Literacy Standards.
Then there's the Depth of Knowledge that much accompany each and every lesson.
And as we've already created quite a list,
We haven't even mentioned the content standards!

So how do these pieces all go together?
Here's how I see it.

The Anchor Standards and Math Practices are in essence shaping the classroom environment.  They are the methods of learning that students must engage in.  While the content standards drive the curriculum, or in other words, what needs to be taught/learned.
