Check out these sites for some great problems for integrating the common core this year.
Teacher's Domain: Must register for free access to lesson plans...some are student-directed. Not sure how to get the students into the lessons. Groups can be created...will this work with students??? The website/slides work on the ipads, however, inputing answers does not. Laptops would be better in this case.
Illuminations: Great lesson ideas with student handouts/materials all just a click away. Most handouts in PDF form so they can be easily printed off for students or added to a LiveBinder for student usage.
Both of these resources were found on Thinkfinity. Lots of good stuff. Check it out!!!
NSDL also has lesson plans organized by grade level.
Moving forward is a good thing. If you don't move, you become stagnant. If you become stagnant, you smell. (I'm going with a creek bed analogy here...stay with me). "It Is What It Is" helps us to keep our sanity as we try new things, but at the same time we should never settle for "what it is". We should constantly reflect and learn to move our teaching and our student's learning to higher levels so the classroom doesn't turn stale.
