Application & Duel Intensity Graphing Problem

Farmer Bill grows vegetables.  He has no irrigation system.  Fortunately he lives where it rains an average 2 inches per week.  He grows cucumbers, yellow squash and jalapeno peppers.  Cucumbers will grow 3 inches for every two inches of rain.  The squash will grow 1 inch for every 3 inches of rain and the jalapeno peppers will grow 1 inch for every 6 inches of rain.  Plot a graph for a 6 weeks growing period.

1.  What is the length of each veggie at the end of 6 weeks?
2.  How much water did they each get?
3.  What is the growth rate of each veggie?

What is your independent variable?  Rain or weeks?  How are the graphs the same?  How are they different?
