Integers Ramped Up with ScreenChomp

How in the world do you take the concept of learning to subtract integers and ramp it up?
Subtracting integers is hard.
It's confusing.
It creates frustrating moments for students when they can't wrap their brain around the concept.

Today we looked at the same methods we used for addition.
"Positive (+) Negative (-) Notation" and "Driving Along the Number Line"
We modeled both methods in our notes as we carried on a great conversation of "How?" and "Why?"
We also talked about the phrase "Add the Opposite)
As I continued through my class schedule, I had a nagging feeling that I should be ramping up this lesson.
The students were struggling so maybe if we looked beyond just understanding and remembering we might actually move our thinking.

Students are going to create a short video explanation how to solve an integer subtraction problem.

Once the videos have been created,
Students will move their thinking up Bloom's Taxonomy to Analysis and Evaluate.
Each student will evaluate another student's video for process and correct solution.
They will then solve the same problem using one of other two methods,
And then compare both methods to find similarities between the two.
