Today I videotaped about 17 minutes of a Skyping conversation with one of our classes.
As I listened to the conversation, I started seeing it in movie form...
With transition slides tying the information to our math lesson in a more organized fashion.
I downloaded the video into iMovie so I could begin my project.
I knew there had to be a way to cut out unwanted sections, but I had no idea how to do it.
After a little research, I learned a great shortcut!
To split a clip, simple hold down the command, shift, S key.
I was able to take 17 minutes of uneditted video and cut it down to 11 minutes of more-focused content.
Moving forward is a good thing. If you don't move, you become stagnant. If you become stagnant, you smell. (I'm going with a creek bed analogy here...stay with me). "It Is What It Is" helps us to keep our sanity as we try new things, but at the same time we should never settle for "what it is". We should constantly reflect and learn to move our teaching and our student's learning to higher levels so the classroom doesn't turn stale.
