We're doing dot-to-dot puzzles in math.
Dot-to-dots with a Integer twist!
The objective of the lesson is to allow students to practice operations with integers but at the same time ramp up the rigor with having them create the problems under a set number of guidelines.
I felt this was more beneficial than just another worksheet.
Students picked out a coloring picture as their pattern,
And then with a piece of white paper over it, plotted at least 20 dots.
Depending on how many dots they used,
students started creating integer problems using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division for each dot in the puzzle...
I helped them with the process by providing them with this checklist.
