Idea Sketch - iPad App Review

In past posts, you have seen some of the mind maps I've created with Idea Sketch.  This tool would be great to use in any classroom where writing is involved.  Instead of storyboards, this could provide a sketch of ideas for an iMovie, podcast, or powerpoint display.  Students can pick from various colors and shapes to organize their thoughts and plans.

I use Idea Sketch to help with my lesson planning.  By sketching out the big ideas, I am able to get a handle on how the whole lesson will look and then focus on the details.

To make a new sketch, simply click on the folder icon in the top left corner.  Select the + button.  Name your new sketch and select the types of lines you want to use.

To start creating, click on the + button on the top right...choosing color and shapes and typing in your ideas.  Specific notes can be added to remind the teams what exactly needs to be done.  A note is depicted with three small squares below the title.

To attach it to the another "bubble" click on the image and choose the squiqqle line.  Drag it to the "bubble" you want to connect it to.

When you click on the "bubble" and select the > option, you can read the note or make changes to test, color, and shape.

The best part about this application is that it's FREE!  A must have in my opinion.
